General Hydroponics Nutrient

General Hydroponics Flora Nutrient was the first nutrient we offered for sale in 1992 and it's the first one we recommend today. Flora Nutrient is the "gold standard" for hydroponics, simply because it works well. The FloraGro, FloraBloom and FloraMicro were designed to be mixed together in varying proportions depending on what stage of growth the plants are in. You would usually use some amount of each all the time. In the beginning, use more of the FloraGro for higher nitrogen. In the end, use more of the FloraBloom to increase the amount of phosphorus. It's really quite simple to use. Just get one of each FloraGro, FloraBloom and FloraMicro and follow the directions on the bottle. Many growers have their own specific mixing ratios that work for them. A good place to start is the Weekly Feeding Chart where you can print a complete chart of nutrient changes from beginning to end. We also have a nutrient chart for some popular crops grown hydroponically. The nutrient solution is only one part of growing healthy plants. Equally important are the other environmental factors like light levels, temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide.

		Hardwater FloraMicro 5-0-1	Hard Water Substitute the FloraMicro with the Hardwater FloraMicro when the Calcium content it your water is above 70 parts per million (PPM) or if the total PPM is over 200. You can contact your water utility company for the calcium content but if you see calcium buildup on your faucets, you probably have hard water. Hard Water is not an issue when using reverse osmosis water.
