The IR-1 is a power switching relay. It has two power cords and two sets of outlets. The right side power cord is the power supply. The left side power cord is the trigger. When the trigger is powered, the power is switched off on the left side outlets and on on the right side outlets. When the trigger has no power, the reverse happens. The advantage with a relay like this is the trigger requires very low amperage to switch the high amperage power. You could potentially plug dozens of triggers into the same timer or thermostat so all the high amperage equipment is started at the same time. Operates on 115VAC with 15 Amp switching capacity. Approved for indoor use only.
